After several new lows for American Idol (2.8 adults), the results show was even with last week. The stronger-than-typical lead did little for special Thursday outings of New Girl (2.0 adults) and The Mindy Project (1.4 adults). New Girl was down two tenths of a point from its last Tuesday original with Mindy up a tenth from just the other day. It marked Fox’s second flirtation with half-hours in the block after back-to-back Raising Hopes aired in the slot last week. The network averaged a 2.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 7.7 million viewers.
Celebrity Wife Swap (1.2 adults) was off two tenths of a point from last week on ABC. Grey’s Anatomy (2.7 adults) was also down by two tenths, while Scandal (2.7 adults) improved by a tenth of a point. The trio averaged out to a 2.2 adults rating on ABC and 6.9 million viewers.
NBC launched a slightly retooled block on Thursday, though the 8 p.m. hour was business as usual. Community (1.0 adults) was down a tenth from its last original, while Parks and Recreation (1.5 adults) returned from its break shy a tenth as well. The Office (1.7 adults) was down two tenths of a point, while Go On (1.1 adults) took a steep drop without The Voice lead from its last Tuesday original (1.9 adults). The premiere of Hannibal pulled a 1.6 adults rating at 10 p.m. That’s up seventh tenths of a point from January’s dismal debut of Do No Harm (0.9) and year-long time slot best for scripted programming in the time slot -- but not particularly strong. The network averaged a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers.
The CW aired repeats of The Vampire Diaries and Beauty and the Beast, averaging a 0.3 rating with 18-49-ers and 955,000 viewers.
