Fujifilm is debuting its new IS-mini color management tool next week at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. Joining the company for the launch will be Dean Cundey, the veteran cinematographer behind such seminal films as Jurassic Park and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
The IS-mini is a small hardware device that uses 1D or 3D LUTs to convert color information from an HD-SDI input; it has both HD-SDI and HDMI outputs.
This can be used as a stand-alone or together with Fujifilm’s CCBOXX ACES-based image processing system for on-set color management. Users might include directors of photography, digital imaging technicians and colorists.
Cundey will be a guest at the company's NAB exhibit to talk about the technology as well as his work. His latest project is a film tentatively titled Something Whispered, starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and directed by Peter Cousens.
At NAB, the CCBOXX will be demonstrated with the AJA Ki Pro Mini recording device.
