by Salisbury52 Great game. Brings back so many good memories. The bad part is that if you are not willing to spend money on all of the extras you will NEVER get anywhere in this game. It is a shame that every developer is going this route and ruining the fun in playing games on your IOS device. In app purchases will be the death of the IOS gaming industry.

by Littlet313 Expect to die a lot and bleed out more money to continue playing. Think of this as Time Crisis at the arcades with quarters but with a more expensive model. It's greedy to charge an app and exploit "continues" to charge more for your customers to complete a game they already paid for. This greed behavior will kill this industry fast.

by iangrantphoto No one should buy this on the principal that its a pay to win game. 99 cents and then have to pay more? Horrible horrible decision. Kills the memory of a fantastic game.

Also the controls are incredibly bad, just going left to right can be incredibly infuriating. It's not like you can blame it on the iPhone either, I've seen plenty of platformers work just fine with smooth controls.

Finally, those cut scenes when you go in the base are like 3/4 the resolution- like when a hd channel has standard def. video to show with bars on the side. What's up with that?

Graphics are a nice improvement from the old nes days. Fun to see the upgrade.

One star for pay to win- I just spent money to buy this, is that not enough???!!!

by Decmomphoto How do you play this friggin' game? I get the tools and braces and stuff, but how do you know what and when to do anything? I'm baffled as to what I'm supposed to do next…. I've cleaned the teeth, filled the cavities and put braces the little brat, but there's no end in sight? Anyone, a little help here?

by Bcrouse Seems fun, but there is nano tutorial and as far as I have seen there is no objective so you don't know when your done

by Drewzz14 No objective, no goals, no tutorial . Seems like it could be fun if it was changed a little but for now not so much

Launch a daredevil group of fishy friends to the sky in Fish Out Of Water, an adventure across the sun, sand and surf!

This is a brand new mobile masterpiece from Halfbrick, creators of Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride!

Fish Out Of Water is the story of six feisty fish longing to soar above the ocean and see the world from a whole new perspective. To help them get airborne, players simply throw their fish of choice right out of the water and watch as it flies through the clouds and skips merrily along the waves. But there’s a lot more to this adventure under the surface!

Players will have to battle the elements and choose their throw wisely as the weather changes hourly. Expect the unexpected with crazy tsunamis, icebergs and even an immense jellyfish swarm!

After three throws, the Crab Crew will score your overall performance, and that’s where the competition really heats up! Players can compete in daily league score competitions with their friends and monitor their level progress. As different objectives are completed, players level up and unlock charms which can be crafted to unleash awesome bonus powers at the start of each game!

Fish Out Of Water is an easy choice for instant fun – a seaworthy search for the perfect 10!

by Bubbasco What is up with the in-app purchase pricing model being used in this game?? $15 for crystals, $1 to CHANGE the COLOR of YOUR NAME!?

Also, and probably more importantly, the game.... Just.... Isn't... That.... Fun... (This review pains me because I've loved halfbrick's other games)

by Goggles999 Just another way to promote advertising through social media. All I see on the left are messages that pop up saying "reddit league" "touch arcade league" "awful forums league" and anything else you can think of. It feels like in-game advertising. Your user base is popping you guys for cheap advertising. On top of that, there is no gameplay. This is not a game. Swipe, then watch a fish flop around, tap to perform an almost useless boost. I really gave this thing a good try, but with the social media push, and the user made in game adverts, I feel really duped at this point. Waste of a dollar. Halfbrick, this is a huge disappointment and a departure from your usual high standards.

by JohnDoeTheThird This is it? After Jetpack which was ages ago, this was it? 5mins and I'm done with the game.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Jacob Wolf - P 2012Tippett's wolf effects in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn"

Berkeley, Calif.-based VFX company Tippett Studios laid off 40 percent of its workforce Friday, the company's CEO and president Jules Roman confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter, with the possibility of more pink slips coming.

More than 50 visual effects designers were let go, leaving a staff of 100 full-timers still working at the studio, whose recent work is on display in such blockbuster films as Ted and Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

"We're hibernating, figuring out a way to reinvent and scale down because there's a lag in work obviously and there's such upheaval in the visual effects industry, period," Roman said.

"We're not sure where it's all going, but we think it's probably going north," she added, referring to recent losses to Canada-based effects houses, which lure Hollywood studios with enticing tax credits.

The move comes in the wake of the collapse of Rhythm & Hues, the effects studio behind Life of Pi, acquired this week by Prana Studios following a recent bankruptcy filing. It offers further evidence that the visual effects industry is going through economic turmoil.

Roman adds that if nothing changes, more layoffs will come to Tippett -- a 30-year-old studio that got its start with stop-motion animation in films like the RoboCop trilogy.

"If we don't get any work by the end of the year, you can't live on air, can you?" she said.
